Durham Tees Valley Airport is one of the UK’s smaller airports, and has one terminal. It was recently renovated and has the latest up-to-date facilities.
There’s only one terminal at the airport, which makes navigating it around it really simple! You need to ensure that you check in from 40 minutes to 3 hours before your departure.
Check-in desks are situated on both sides of terminal when you enter the building. Before you enter the departure lounge, there is a passenger facility fee; it’s £6.00 for adults, £2.00 for children aged 3 – 15, and free for under 3s.
There are baby changing facilities in the terminal.
There are a small number of shops and cafes located at the airport so you can stock up on your travel essentials – the main one being WHSmith. Whether you’re after something to read or some in-flight snacks, you’ll find it at WHSmith.
Food & drink
Being a small airport, there are not any restaurant chains. Instead, there are some lovely small eateries, such as The Airport Cafe and Xpress Cafe and Bar, which you’ll find after security.
Durham Tees Valley Airport is very good for special assistance. Disabled parking is available for blue badge holders, and all spaces are in the front row of the carpark near to the terminal. There are also unisex disabled toilets in the departure lounge as well as the baggage reclaim area. There are additional disabled toilets next to Gates 1 & 2 and Gates 3 & 4. To get the most out of special assistance, it is advised that you contact your airline or travel agent well in advance.
